Event Protocol Quick Reference
| Event | Impact | Before Release | After Release | Key Instruments |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FOMC | EXTREME | Flat 30 min before | Wait 45–60 min. Trade second move, not the spike. | USD pairs, NAS100, Gold |
| NFP | EXTREME | Flat before (1st Fri, 13:30 UTC) | Wait 15 min. Read wages + NFP together. | USD pairs, NAS100 |
| US CPI | EXTREME | No unprotected positions | Watch core vs headline divergence. | USD pairs, Gold, NAS100 |
| ECB | HIGH | Flat EUR/USD + press conference | Initial move often reverses in 30–60 min. | EUR/USD, EUR crosses |
| BoJ | HIGH | JPY pairs especially volatile | Watch for intervention language. Moves can be extreme. | USD/JPY, JPY crosses |
| US PCE | MED-HIGH | Cautious | Compare to CPI — divergence is the edge. | USD pairs, Gold |
| PPI | MEDIUM | Monitor as leading CPI indicator | Adjust CPI expectations. | USD pairs |
| US GDP | MEDIUM | Quarterly — advance reading most impactful | Below forecast = dovish Fed pressure. | USD pairs, NAS100 |

My Rules Card — Non-Negotiable
I only trade A+ setups. Everything else is ignored.
1
Risk 1% per trade maximum
$500 on $50K. Does not increase during winning periods. Ever.
2
Structure first — EMA supports, never overrides
Higher highs/lows = long. Lower highs/lows = short. EMA 20+50 confirms structure — it never overrides it. EMAs lag. Structure leads. Always.
3
If I cannot state bias in one sentence → no trade
"I am [long/short] on [instrument] because [one structural reason]." If the sentence doesn't come — there is no trade.
4
One trigger only — rejection wick. No wick → no trade.
Minimum 2x body wick rejecting key level, body closing in correct half. Wait for 1H candle to FULLY CLOSE. No exceptions.
5
Stop loss: beyond signal candle wick
EUR/USD: wick + 3–5 pip buffer. NAS100: wick + 15–25 points. NAS100 minimum 50 points. Stop does not move further from entry. Ever.
6
Take profit: set before entry. Do not extend.
Next clearly visible 4H level. If ≥ 2R use it. If not, use 2R fixed. Target does not move outward after entry. Ever.
7
Daily loss limit: 2% personal — stop immediately
$1,000 on $50K. Close platform. Walk away. Return tomorrow. The remaining FTMO buffer is not a recovery opportunity.
8
Prime sessions only
London EUR/USD: 08:00–11:00 UTC. NY NAS100: 13:30–15:30 UTC. Outside these windows: no trades. Period.
9
No trading 30 min before / 15 min after high-impact events
FOMC, ECB, NFP, CPI = red folder on Forex Factory. 30 min before: flat. 15 min after: wait for spike to resolve.
10
Maximum 3 trades per day. 0 = professional day.
No A+ setup = no trade = protected account. Patience is the discipline that preserves the account while waiting for setups that compound it.
11
Never move stop loss further from entry
Moving stop = hope, not risk management. The stop defines where the thesis is wrong. Accept it.
12
Journal every trade immediately after closing
Not end of day. Immediately. Emotional state is most honest right after a trade closes.
13
NAS100 pre-session: run additional checks
VIX >25 = reduce. VIX >30 = max 1 or skip. VIX >35 = flat. Major earnings = reduce. Wait 5–10 min after 13:30 UTC. Min stop 50 pts.
Three-Criteria Check — All Required
1 — Structure
Clear directional bias on 4H. Higher highs/lows for longs. Lower highs/lows for shorts. EMA 20+50 confirms. If ambiguous — no trade.
2 — Key Level
Price at meaningful, tested zone on 4H. Draw as zone (rectangle), not a line. Must be obvious. Do not invent levels.
3 — Trigger (One Only)
Rejection wick on 1H at key level. Body closes in correct half. Candle must FULLY CLOSE before entry.
One "No" = No trade. No exceptions.
A+ / B / C Grade System
| Grade | Conditions | Size | Bias Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| A+ | Prime session + all 3 criteria clearly met + macro confirming | 1% risk | With OR against bias. A+ overrides directional preference. |
| B | One condition weaker: outside prime session OR structure less clean OR macro neutral | 0.5% risk | With bias only. Against bias at B = automatic C. |
| C | Two+ conditions weaker OR unclear structure OR choppy OR against bias at B | No trade | C = no trade. Irrelevant of bias. |
Support & Resistance Reference
S/R Core Principles▶
◈
Zones, not lines
Draw S/R as rectangles (zones) on 4H. Price rarely reverses at a precise line. A zone represents the area where reversals have historically occurred.
◈
Multi-timeframe hierarchy
Daily/Weekly defines the big picture zones. 4H defines the tradeable levels. 1H defines the entry. Never trade against a Daily S/R zone without strong reason.
◈
Role reversal
Broken support becomes resistance. Broken resistance becomes support. The most reliable setups occur on the first retest of a broken level.
◈
False breaks / stop hunts
Price often spikes through a level to trigger stops before reversing. A wick through a zone that closes back inside it is a stop hunt, not a break. Wait for the candle to CLOSE.
◈
Top-down process
4H for WHERE (identify the key zone). 1H for WHEN (wait for rejection wick at that zone). Never reverse this order.
Key Level Quality Checklist▶
✓ Tested at least 2× on 4H chart
✓ Visible without zooming — must be obvious
✓ Prior swing high turned support (or vice versa)
✓ Round number alignment adds confluence
✓ Higher timeframe (Daily/Weekly) also has a zone nearby
✗ Do not invent levels to justify a trade you want to take
✗ Do not use levels that required heavy zooming to find
FTMO $100K Limits — Know by Memory
| Limit | FTMO | My Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Loss Limit | 5% / $5,000 | 2% / $2,000 |
| Max Total Drawdown | 10% / $10,000 | 5% / $5,000 |
| Phase 1 Target | 10% / $10,000 (min 4 trading days) | |
| Phase 2 Target | 5% / $5,000 · Profit split: 80% | |
Circuit Breakers — Stop Immediately
⚠ Urge to recover a loss — Revenge trading. Close platform. Walk away.
⚠ Boredom or impatience — Forced trade. Zero trades today.
⚠ Excitement after a winner — Return to baseline before next setup.
My job is to execute the process — not to control the outcome.
A losing trade executed correctly is a good trade.

Candlestick Reference
Pattern Library
Core principle: Candlesticks = WHEN. S/R = WHERE. Structure = DIRECTION.
The rejection wick (pin bar) is your only entry trigger. All other patterns are context signals, not trade reasons.
The rejection wick (pin bar) is your only entry trigger. All other patterns are context signals, not trade reasons.
Primary Entry Trigger
Bullish Rejection Wick (Pin Bar)
Long lower wick (≥ 2× body) rejecting support. Body closes in upper half of candle range. 1H candle must FULLY CLOSE before entry.
PRIMARY LONG TRIGGER
Bearish Rejection Wick (Pin Bar)
Long upper wick (≥ 2× body) rejecting resistance. Body closes in lower half of candle range. 1H candle must FULLY CLOSE before entry.
PRIMARY SHORT TRIGGER
Context Signals (Not Entry Triggers)
Doji
Indecision. Neither buyers nor sellers in control. Signals potential reversal only when at a key level after a trend. Alone, it is not an entry signal.
CONTEXT ONLY
Bullish Engulfing
Large bullish candle fully engulfs previous bearish candle. Signals strong buying pressure. Adds confluence at support, but is not the primary wick trigger.
CONFLUENCE — NOT PRIMARY TRIGGER
Bearish Engulfing
Large bearish candle fully engulfs previous bullish candle. Signals strong selling pressure at resistance. Confluence signal, not a primary entry trigger.
CONFLUENCE — NOT PRIMARY TRIGGER
Inside Bar
Candle contained within previous candle's range. Indicates consolidation / pause. Breakout from inside bar at key level can signal continuation.
CONSOLIDATION SIGNAL
Hammer / Dragonfly Doji
Long lower wick with small body near top. Similar to bullish pin bar but body may be smaller. Strongest when body is still in upper half of range. Valid entry trigger if body rule met.
POTENTIAL LONG TRIGGER — verify body rule
Shooting Star
Long upper wick with small body near bottom. Bearish reversal signal at resistance. Valid if body closes in lower half. Similar to bearish pin bar — check body rule.
POTENTIAL SHORT TRIGGER — verify body rule
Marubozu (Momentum)
Full body candle with no or minimal wicks. Shows strong momentum — buyers or sellers controlled entire session. Confirms trend direction on 4H. Not an entry trigger alone.
MOMENTUM CONFIRMATION
Two-Bar Reversal
Strong bearish candle followed by equally strong bullish candle (or vice versa). Signals momentum shift. Strongest at key levels. Not a primary trigger — look for wick on the second candle.
REVERSAL CONTEXT SIGNAL
Candlestick Rules Summary
The Body Rule
Body must close in the correct half of the candle range.
Long trade → body closes in upper 50% of total candle range.
Short trade → body closes in lower 50% of total candle range.
Body closing in the wrong half = failed signal = no trade.
Long trade → body closes in upper 50% of total candle range.
Short trade → body closes in lower 50% of total candle range.
Body closing in the wrong half = failed signal = no trade.
The Wick Rule
Wick must be at least 2× the length of the body.
A small wick is not a rejection wick.
An engulfing candle is not a rejection wick.
Close enough is not close enough. No wick → no trade.
A small wick is not a rejection wick.
An engulfing candle is not a rejection wick.
Close enough is not close enough. No wick → no trade.
The Close Rule
The 1H candle must fully close before entry.
Never enter on a candle that is still forming.
Enter at the open of the next candle after the signal closes.
Anticipating the close = taking a B or C grade trade.
Never enter on a candle that is still forming.

Context Over Patterns
A perfect wick at a non-level is not a trade.
A rejection wick only matters if it is at a key S/R zone on 4H.
Structure + Level + Wick = trade.
Any two of three = no trade.

Structure + Level + Wick = trade.

Reversal Patterns
Entry Context
Hammer
Long lower wick at support. Body closes in upper half. Buyers aggressively rejected lows. Strongest when wick is 2-3x body.
BULLISH REVERSAL
Shooting Star
Long upper wick at resistance. Body closes in lower half. Sellers rejected highs hard. Mirror of hammer — same rules apply.
BEARISH REVERSAL
Morning Star
3-candle structure: large red → small body/doji → large green closing above midpoint of first candle. Classic bottoming signal.
BULLISH REVERSAL — HIGH
Evening Star
3-candle topping pattern: large green → small body/doji → large red closing below midpoint of first candle. Sell the evening star.
BEARISH REVERSAL — HIGH
Tweezer Top
Two candles with identical highs (or lows for Tweezer Bottom) at key S/R. Precise double rejection. Most reliable at strong resistance zones.
PRECISION REVERSAL
Harami / Inside Bar
Small candle fully contained within prior candle's body. Signals momentum pause and range compression. Wait for breakout close — direction = trade.
PAUSE — WAIT FOR BREAK
Continuation Patterns
3 White Soldiers
3 consecutive bullish candles, each opening within prior body and closing near its high. Strong trend continuation — do not fade.
BULLISH CONTINUATION
3 Black Crows
3 consecutive bearish candles, each opening within prior body and closing near its low. Strong downtrend momentum — short into strength.
BEARISH CONTINUATION
Marubozu
Full-body candle with no wicks at all. Buyers (or sellers) controlled the entire session without exception. Pure momentum — trade in direction only.
MOMENTUM SIGNAL
Inside Bar Breakout
Inside bar compresses range → momentum breakout. Entry on close outside the mother bar's high or low. Set alerts at both extremes.
BREAKOUT SETUP
Rule: A pattern alone is never a signal. Require: key S/R level + higher timeframe confluence + macro context aligned.
Bollinger Bands & Key Indicators
Technical Tools
Bollinger Bands (20, 2)
BB Squeeze
Bands contract → volatility compressing → breakout imminent. Direction unknown until candle closes outside band. Set bilateral alerts.
BREAKOUT PENDING
Walk the Band
Price repeatedly tags upper band while trending. This is strength, not overbought. Do NOT fade. Only exit when price closes back inside.
TREND STRENGTH
Mean Reversion
In confirmed ranging markets only: upper band = short bias, lower band = long bias, MA20 = target. Never apply in trending conditions.
RANGE CONTEXT ONLY
Key Indicators
RSI (14)
>70 = overbought, <30 = oversold — only valid at key S/R. Divergence (price vs RSI direction) is far more powerful than the absolute level.
CONFLUENCE TOOL
MACD
Crossover above zero = bullish momentum. Below zero = bearish. Histogram shrinking = momentum fading. Crossover of zero line > signal line cross.
MOMENTUM FILTER
ATR (14)
Average True Range = volatility measure. Stop loss = 1.5–2x ATR from entry. High ATR = widen stops and reduce size. Low ATR = tighter stops.
STOP PLACEMENT
EMA 20 / 50 / 200
Price above 200 EMA = bullish bias. 20 above 50 above 200 = full bullish stack. 20 crossing above 50 = golden cross. Below = death cross.
TREND STRUCTURE
Indicators confirm — they do not lead. Always read price action first, then check indicators for alignment.
